I thought everyone’s dream was the AP RACING monoblock caliper CP3485, but?? CP3489? I wonder what that is… If anyone knows more details, I’d appreciate any information.
These are my personal possessions and I have both 40mm and 90mm versions (*´ω｀*) But recently I realized “I have no bike to put them on”… If I could get the machined fork from the OW01 kit, things would be different… Lately, I’ve been getting more like an old man and “have zero interest in customizing” . Today’s Star: The phantom brake part **”AP Racing CP3485 / CP3389 Monoblock Calipers”**.
What Makes This Part Special: A “machined single-piece construction (monoblock)” with no bolts at the mating surface. Created as the ultimate racing caliper pursuing maximum rigidity at the time, these are now ultra-rare world-class treasure parts that are rarely seen even on international auction sites.
Work Performed: Complete disassembly, cleaning, and overhaul (OH) of this precious caliper, along with mechanical analysis of its internal structure.

Brake pads are Metallic! 7737-SPEC03
I use these pads with Sunstar Neo-Classic. Compatible models: AP RACING 4P (contact width 34mm) CP3369/3385/3969/5569/4484/7853/4488 *In other words, pads for these caliper model numbers are compatible.
There are some caliper model numbers I’ve never heard of. It would be interesting if we could decode the numbers on this caliper.
Searching for alternatives based on piston diameter × height?
Large piston: 34.82×17.66
Small piston: 28.47×17.86 This is just an example for reference…
I really like the seal feel that shows the determination to never leak fluid. After assembly, if you don’t do the initial break-in, it’s really stiff.
If you massage it a bit, you can feel smooth operation, though not quite to Brembo levels.
The nipple and oil line are M10-P1.00

It’s M10-P1.00. The image shows a Brembo nipple, but AP’s shape is slightly different.

Even using a Brembo OEM bleeder on the CP3485, air bleeding works and there’s no seepage.
Both Brembo and AP RACING CP3485 have a 90-degree taper angle.
Completely mastered the fluid oil line with Honda OEM parts
I sandwich and secure the damper like this to guard it.
The original is fixed with something like silicone. Applying and molding it is tedious, and removing it is a hassle. I think a clean and simple configuration is best.
This is a Honda OEM fuel tank damper. 17611-ML7-000 I was thinking of using it on the oil-cooled GSX-R750/1100 series, but it was too low… So I ended up salvaging it from the junk box and repurposing it.
You really should keep things instead of throwing them away!

This is common with Brembo. The straight section at the tip is slightly different, but no fluid leakage or seepage issues occurred.
