Today’s handy find (Best Buy item)

Item: (STRAIGHT/Straight) Seal puller shaft type [original product] 19-379

Target work: Oil seal replacement at the base of the shift pedal (shift shaft).

Long-standing frustration:

  • Old, hardened seals are difficult to remove.
  • If you force it and scratch the shaft or crankcase, it becomes a fatal wound where oil will seep forever.

Results after using it (why it’s a Best Buy):

  • With leverage, it pops right out!
  • The risk of scratching metal is dramatically reduced. This is a god-tier tool that makes you regret not buying it sooner.

I was honestly pretty shocked (‘Д’)

I already have a mini sliding hammer, so I didn’t really need to buy this.
But you know, sometimes the sliding hammer doesn’t work out, and that’s when things get tedious.

I was actually thinking I wanted to work more efficiently.
I learned about this item from an Instagram reel.
At first I just thought, “Oh, there’s a tool like this?”
Could this work for removing shift oil seals?

The price is also reasonable, so it was very easy to pick up

Machine the width according to the oil seal size

You need to machine the width according to the inner diameter of the oil seal.
Grind it to the angle where this puller lies horizontally against the oil seal.

But if you grind too much, it becomes weak and could break, so balance is necessary.
If you pry without grinding, you’ll scratch the shaft, so that also requires caution.

When working on long parts, the surface shown in the image can make contact and cause scratches, so be careful.

If you work while humming, you’ll definitely do it.

You might struggle on the first try, but from the second time on, you’re unstoppable

This is wonderful.
I was truly amazed. I bet the two people who saw this blog today will probably buy one (*´ω`*)
It’ll come in handy for removing shift oil seals on Zephyrs and GPZs too.

Straight seal puller shaft type 19-379

(STRAIGHT/Straight) Spare blade (for 19-379 seal puller shaft type) 19-3791
Since there are spares, if you buy them as a set, you can handle various oil seals.
