The hydraulic brake switch is broken, so we’re replacing it.
Often things break right at inspection time! Everyone, do a “pre-ride lighting check.” Just running current through each part and operating them does electrical components good.
Give them a “flick-flick, squeeze-squeeze.”
Since it’s a hydraulic switch, we have to remove the banjo bolt. If you pinch the hose like in the image above and prevent atmospheric pressure from acting on it, it won’t leak even when full. *A little will still come out.
In this state we swap it out quickly and we’re done. *Of course air will get in, so make sure to bleed it.
We’ve changed the connector to a 110 coupler, so disconnecting should be easy.
The rear master diaphragm was falling apart, so we replaced it.
This part has really high compatibility, so we keep it in stock.
We also replaced the brake fluid.
Using both front and rear brakes properly keeps the feel excellent.
Maintenance alone can’t cover everything. The most important thing is using it properly — that’s what keeps things in good condition long-term.
It might feel scary at first, but accelerate a bit before squeezing both front and rear brakes hard. The brake pads will refresh and the feel should improve.
Like anything, getting things properly seated and moving them is what matters.
That thick exhaust pipe looks great!
That thick exhaust pipe is really masculine. It’s already become a rare item in modern times.
The muffler precision is so high that you can pop off just the collector and slide it back on smoothly. Surprisingly few mufflers in the world are like that.
So that’s how it went— everything else is OK for after the move! That’s the plan, so we’re going to deliver it in this condition for now.
