This is a sight commonly seen in older racing Brembo calipers. This crack has actually been there for a little while now. . . . But finally the other side cracked too, and that’s when we decided to replace it.
Don’t regret buying used calipers on Yahoo Auctions or Mercari. . . . Metal isn’t forever—I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. ・
Today’s Trouble Log
Both: SUZUKI GSX1200 (Inazuma 1200)
Parts: Brembo Racing Caliper 30/34
Symptoms: Discovered a visibly noticeable **crack** on the caliper body (likely around the bridge or mounting area).
Cause: Age-related fatigue, or possibly excessive tightening torque in the past (racing parts are designed with periodic replacement in mind).
Action: Repair is not possible, so immediate replacement with a new caliper.
Lesson: High-performance parts require rigorous inspection.

If it were a banjo fitting, it would definitely be leaking. Since it was connected with a union (taper), I think that’s why no problems occurred.
When you think about it that way, cast iron is really amazing. . . If you’re using racing parts, be careful. FOR RACING USE ONLY Using racing parts = taking responsibility in a sense (*´ω`*)
New one also lubricated with metal rubber once
Counterfeits have become so sophisticated lately that it’s hard to tell them apart. This one is genuine so it’s safe.
I extract two pistons at a time from each side using air pressure and work through the process. If you do this setup first, the pistons come out smoothly without unnecessary rollback.
In other words, even after bleeding is complete“Hmm, the feel is a bit soft?”You won’t have to spend time wondering about that.
CCI Metal Rubber, the ultimate lubricant for caliper pistons, is truly a wonderful chemical.
Parts to be reused are finished with wet blasting. I put a wire ring around the pad pin clip just once. You need to understand the easy-to-remove structure and handle it carefully, or it can be dangerous.
That’s how the caliper replacement and bleeding are complete. To be continued.
DANGER: Cracked Brembo Racing Caliper on GSX1200S.
Incident: During routine maintenance, I discovered a hairline crack on the body of the Brembo Racing 30/34 caliper. Risk: Racing parts are designed for performance and lightness, sometimes at the expense of longevity. A crack like this could lead to catastrophic brake failure under pressure. Action: Replaced the caliper immediately with a new one. Advice: High-performance parts require high-level inspection. Always check your brake components carefully!
