For the past few years, I’ve been using OEM oil seals. The reason is I’ve figured out a method that almost never leaks, so OEM or anything else is fine.
The spring tip has a narrow end and a wide end, so the wide end goes on top. If you mark it, it’ll be easier next time.
It looks brand new and clean. You wouldn’t think it’s a motorcycle from nearly 30 years ago. It’s in excellent condition.
Air filter – sniff it, and if the gasoline smell is strong, replace it
The air filter was in good condition, but the smell was quite strong. When replacing it, please also clean inside the air cleaner box.
Spark plug – my favorite JR 8 B
This is something unique to carbureted bikes, so I replaced the spark plug too.
The owner mentioned that the drive sprocket area seems to be making a clicking sound, so I checked it. There’s nothing abnormal, so I’ll just gently close the cover.
Most of the work has already been done on this bike, so the overall condition is very good. So now it’s just a test ride and we’re done (*´ω｀*)
