For our second entry today, we step outside the wrenching bay to look at our factory environment. Summer in Chiba (Mutsuzawa) brings extreme, relentless humidity. Since moisture is the ultimate enemy that triggers rust on steel and vintage alloy parts, we run our high-capacity commercial AC non-stop. Out of curiosity, I placed an empty 2L plastic bottle under the external condensation drain hose. To my absolute amazement, the bottle was filled to the brim in less than two hours! Verdict: The AC is actively squeezing over 10 to 15 liters of water out of our shop’s air every single day. Maintaining a dry, 50% humidity environment is crucial.
